What is Identity Compliance Management?
Identity Compliance Management is the phrase used for a 3rd generation Identity Management solution.
„The role of 1st generation Identity Management (IdM) is to track and manage [+automate] the changes to all the attributes and entries [e.g. access rights] that define an identity in the corporate repository.”
The 2nd generation, the Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) combines Identity Governance and Identity Administration. Identity Governance is about visibility, segregation of duties (SoD), role management, certification, analytics and reporting, while Identity Administration is related to account administration, credentials administration, user and device provisioning and managing entitlements (1st generation IdM functions).
Identity Compliance Management (ICM) is the 3rd generation IdM solution. In addition to IdM and IGA functions it provides full visibility and enables to automate documentation and compliance monitoring / compliance control testing for organizations regarding to both identities with their access rights and IT-resources with their users.
